The students of Tito Lucrezio Caro School went to visit Mr Casaburi's Crib

Some students of our school and three teachers (Mrs Edy Bellatalla, Mrs Anna Baldissara and Mr Antonio Di Giacomo) went to visit a crib made by the craftsman Mr Vincenzo Casaburi. It was a typical Neapolitan crib, with the statues of characters just a bit smaller than a man. The characters were all humble people (artisans, street sellers, bakers, fishers, butchers and so on), whereas the locations were their houses and their workshop. Everything was set in the 18th century, the period in which the Neapolitan crib is usually located. This Crib is in the Church of S.Maria della Natività, which is near our school.

Mr Casaburi and the Parish Priest of the Church, Father Giuseppe Provitera, greeted the students and teachers. They were very kind, because they told the students the story of all the characters and the places represented in the Crib.

With Father Giuseppe and Mr Casaburi there was also Mr Salvatore Testa, a retired journalist who told the students the story of our area, Secondigliano.
