A twinning between school editorial staffs: the good news

27.04.2016 17:39

Last Friday the Carogiornalinonline editorial staff met their colleagues of the Adelaide Ristori School, in the district of Forcella, for a twinning in the name of good news.
This happened during a meeting for the giornalino project, when some students and two teachers of the Ristori School came to see us at our school.
The meeting started with our interview to our colleagues: we wanted to know how did they the idea of their newspaper and which ideas did they have about their district. We were very surprised when we discovered that we shared the same aim: highlighting all the good events taking place in our districts. This is so because Secondigliano and Forcella are too often mentioned by media for negative events.
Indeed, we know that negative events attract people's attention more than positive ones. But we know to speak louder and tell how many good initiatives can we find in our districts.
We showed our colleagues our online newspaper with its different sections: NewSchoolforEurope and Books in May. The former is the English language section of Carogiornalinonline for the Etwinning project. The latter is a writing contest for a national web event for choosing the best fairy tale: a class of 1st grade Secondary School is taking part in this contest and writing a fairy tales book.
After this, the editorial staff of the Ristori School showed us their "traditional" newspaper, Ristoriamoci. They were very proud of touching and smelling printed paper. But they were also very proud of the Facebook page which shows all their works, so they showed us.
They told us about the most exciting events they wrote about in their newspaper: the interview to the Mayor of Naples Luigi De Magistris, their visit to a radio station in Rome and a treasure hunt to discover the wonders of their district.
We replied and told them about the most important people we've been able to interview in our Carogiornalinonline: Dr Paolo Siani, to remember the thirtieth anniversary of his brother Giancarlo's death  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giancarlo_Siani; Suzana Glavas, a Croatian writer who lost almost all her family dring the Shoah. We also told how much are we proud to take part in the S.E.L.F., that is Secondigliano Libro Festival (Secondigliano Book Festival).
The afternoon finished after a tea break, a group photo and a gift exchange. We gave Ristoriamoci editorial staff a plaque, whereas they gave us a personalized pen as a symbol.
