GEMELLI DIVERSI? NO! GEMELLI VIRTUALI
Quest’anno la classe II F sta partecipando ad un gemellaggio elettronico con una classe seconda dell’Istituto Comprensivo di Fossacesia, in provincia di Chieti. L’obiettivo di questo gemellaggio elettronico, detto appunto E-twinning in inglese, è la realizzazione di un blog a cui accedono gli alunni e i professori di entrambe le classi. Ciò avviene grazie ad un programma, il Twinspace, che stiamo utilizzando collegandoci alla piattaforma di etwinning.net, a cui possono accedere tutti gli insegnanti di tutti i paesi aderenti all’U.E. Con gli studenti abruzzesi possiamo comunicare anche attraverso videoconferenze, come ad esempio abbiamo fatto in occasione della visita del sindaco De Magistris, a cui abbiamo mostrato il nostro blog.
La piattaforma Etwinning, pur essendo un ambiente virtuale, opera nella più assoluta sicurezza, poiché gli alunni, in quanto minori, accedono alle funzioni del sito in modo seppur limitato, strettamente controllato. Infatti, mentre gli insegnanti hanno accesso pieno alle funzionalità e possono stringere contatti con altri insegnanti e intraprendere progetti di didattica comune, gli studenti possono accedere solo all’ambiente del blog, al cui interno possono collaborare con i loro twinmate. Tuttavia, all’interno del Twinspace, essi sono messi in condizione di poter operare in svariati modi e sentirsi perciò liberi e stimolati al lavoro. Ad esempio, possono impiegare l’apposito servizio di posta twinmail, caricare sul blog file di scrittura, immagini e video, contribuire a discussioni su un forum, il tutto sempre sotto la supervisione dei fondatori del blog, ovvero i loro insegnanti. Nel Twinspace è presente anche una chat istantanea, esattamente come in tutti i social network, come Facebook.
Il blog su cui operano gli alunni di II F si intitola “Christmas all over the world”. Si incentra infatti sulle tradizioni natalizie: ricette tipiche, personaggi minori del presepe, una photogallery su San Gregorio Armeno, materiali sulle novene e le poesie sul Natale dei più famosi poeti napoletani e abruzzesi, una sezione dedicata a “Natale in casa Cupiello” (e molto altro). Alcuni contenuti, tutti curati dagli allievi, sono però in inglese, così da consentire una circolazione non solo italiana. I nostri studenti li hanno appositamente tradotti e sperano che gli studenti europei si interessino alla cultura natalizia napoletana e abruzzese.

DIFFERENT TWINS? NO! VIRTUAL TWINS
This year the class II F takes part in an electronic twinning with another second class of the Istituto Comprensivo[1] that is in Fossacesia, near Chieti, in Abruzzo, in the centre of Italy. By this electronic twinning (or eTwinning, in English) we will create a blog for students and teachers of both classes. In order to do so, we will use the software Twinspace, that teachers coming from all the EU countries can find on the site etwinning.net, or videocall our friends in Abruzzo. When the Mayor of Naples, Mr Luigi De Magistris, came to visit our school at the end of February, we showed him our blog.
The eTwinning platform is a virtual environment, but it is absolutely sure. This is so because under age students can use it under a strict control. On the one hand, teachers can use all the functions of this site, contact other teachers and share projects. On the other hand, students can use the blog only and cooperate with their twinmates. However, when they use Twinspace they can work in many ways, so as they can feel free and be encouraged. For instance, they can use the TwinMail Service, load texts, pictures and videos on the blog, use an instant chatline or take part in conversations on a forum. But they are always strictly controlled by their supervisors in the blog, that is their teachers.
The blog created by our classi s called Christmas all over the world, because it deals with Christmas traditions: recipes, characters you can find in the Crib, a photogallery about Via S. Gregorio Armeno[2], poems written by the most famous from Naples and from Abruzzo, a section about the drama Natale in casa Cupiello[3].
The contents of our blog have all been prepared by our students. But some of them have been translated in English, in order to let students coming from other European countries to become interested in Christmas traditions from Naples and from Abruzzo.

[1] In Italy they are schools consisting from an Infant school, a Primary School and Scuola Media, that is first grade Secondary School (for children from 11 to 14).
[2] A famous old street situated in the centre of Naples. It is famous because there are many workshops where many craftsmen make and sell little statues of characters that are typical of the crib.
[3] A famous drama written by Eduardo De Filippo, the most famous Neapolitan playwright. It’s the story of a family with many problems (a daughter is about to leave her husband, a son doesn’t want to work, some other relatives can’t stand one another). But the father, Luca, can’t see nothing of all this, because he’s completely absorbed by his great interest: to prepare the crib for Christmas.
